empfinden, to sense
to receive, to find, to sense, to react to a given trigger, a sense for the human nature. It took a while to realize, maybe four years. You remember the words of your mother, how she described you as a child - at these moments where you hide behind her. She used this word. You realize that you saw everything, that you felt it and you reacted. You keep a distance, you stay quiet and you never have a chance to develope this sense, to focus on it, to express it. Such a basic thing.
